FAQs
Do outdoor shadetracks block wind and rain?
Yes! When paired with durable outdoor fabrics, shadetracks can significantly reduce wind and rain from entering your outdoor area. While not 100% weatherproof, they provide excellent shelter and extend the usability of your space in different seasons.
Can outdoor shadetracks stop insects?
Yes—when fully closed, the side tracks help create a sealed edge, making it much harder for insects to sneak in. They’re a great option for keeping alfresco dining areas more comfortable.
How are outdoor shadetracks installed?
Outdoor shadetracks are installed by securely fixing the side tracks onto solid surfaces—like timber posts, brick walls, or steel bolsters—on either side of the opening. These fixing points are essential for the system to work properly.
If your area doesn’t already have suitable surfaces for us to attach the tracks, we may not be able to install them. You’ll need two vertical surfaces (or posts) where the tracks can be mounted. If you’re unsure, we can help assess your space and let you know what’s needed.
How do I clean outdoor shadetracks?
Cleaning is easy! Use a soft cloth or sponge with mild soapy water to wipe down the fabric and tracks. Rinse gently with clean water and let it air dry—no high-pressure hoses or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the fabric or track system.
It’s a good idea to clean them every few months (or more often if exposed to salt air or heavy dust) to keep them looking fresh and operating smoothly. Also, make sure the tracks are free of debris to avoid any jams or wear.
